June 2009 Bivouac

Heroes Bivouac
June 3, 2009

Camp Boughton - On a hot June evening in a makeshift facility acquired by our Quartermaster, the Old Frontier Camp, Heroes of '76®, were encamped for the evening and discussing how to bolster the ranks when an eavesdropper was discovered.  Fearing him a spy for the opposing forces, the intruder was thoroughly examined and found to be too patriotic to be anything but true-blue American, but we also found him to be quite adequate to stand the rigors of recruitment.

Brother L. Larry Cook was initiated by the book and given a heroes welcome to our camp.  In the picture above, he's seen among most of the brothers present:    (left to right with pro tem titles noted) Bros. Dick Wright (Adjutant), Walt Mitchell (Sentinal), Herb Merrick (Commander), Rick Reichert (Chief of Staff), Larry Cook (newest Hero), David Kinzie (Master of the Drill), Jim Lasher (Sentinel), Frank Glover (Chaplain).  Photo taken by Bro. Tom Dials.  Not shown: Mike Patterson (Officer of the Day).
